My passion for woodworking was sparked by my grandfather when I was a child. That kindled interest was ignited in high school, when I had the opportunity to take my first woodworking class. The wide versatility of wood drew me in, doing everything from theatrical set construction, to fine jewelry boxes, and lathe work.

I draw most of my inspiration for furniture that I make from George Nakashima. In addition, I also do a lot of looking around on the internet to see what other people are making. I try to keep my work simple. I do this in order to show off the wood and show my skill more subtly. I also try and have a story behind each piece, whether that be how I got the wood or how I was inspired to make the piece.

I enjoy making the most are tables and turned objects, with my favorite wood to use being walnut, maple, and mahogany. Walnut is my wood of choice due to its rich dark color and how well it takes carving and joinery. Maple is my second wood of choice due to the variations you can get from one species of tree, such as plane, curly, and ambrosia. Mahogany is my third wood of choice due to its unique coloration and grain patterns.
